Inter Council Schools’ Senior Boys Futsal Tournament 2017



The Heritage School believes Academic learning and Sports education complements each other. They resemble the two sides of the same coin. A blend of sports education with the academic curriculum helps in developing the over-all personality of the student.

The Heritagians recently participated in Inter Council Schools’ Senior Boys Futsal Tournament 2017 which was commenced on the 2nd November 2017 at Carman School, Dalanwala, Dehradun. Eight Schools including The Heritage School participated in the tournament. The other teams participating were The Aryan School, St Judes School, St Thomas College, Summer Valley School, Col Brown School, Touch Wood School and Carman School. The tournament was based on knockout basis. It began with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement. The Heritage School played their first match against Col. Brown School. In a thriller of a match, the Heritage School beat Col. Brown School by 7 – 3. The scorers for The Heritage School were Shrey Negi (1 goal), Vibhanshu Chhetri (1goal), Shivam Chhetri (4 goals). The brilliant performances of the students made them reach the semi finals wherein they played against St. Judes School. In a nail biting match, The Heritage School once again emerged as winners over St. Judes School by 3-2. The goals were scored by Anant Sati (1 goal), Vibhanshu Joshi (1 goal) and Kartikey Negi (1 goal).

The final of the tournament was played on 5th November 2017 between The Heritage School and Carman School, Dalanwala. The ICSE School in Dehradun played like they had never played before. Their game reflected every single second of hard work they had put in to become as good as they were. They played in a flawless way presenting a great example of team work. Their undying efforts made them play a fierce game and resulted in becoming as first runner-up in the tournament.

Such active involvement in sports makes the students learn the qualities of Leadership, Team spirit and Tolerance. Sports education not only teach the students to maintain the physical stamina, but also the habit of obedience, discipline, the determination to win and will power which eventually makes them a better person and ready to accept challenges in future.
