Imparting Value-Based Education

The Heritage School is a school that focuses on the holistic and all-round development of the students. We believe that education has no limitations, and must be as inclusive and as wide-ranging as possible. Apart from the classroom and curriculum-based teaching, education also means working upon and improving the personality of students and imbibing certain character traits that would be useful for them in their lives throughout. Doing sports, pursuing art, learning teamwork & leadership, and imbibing values in oneself should all come under education.

At The Heritage, one of the top school in Dehradun, value education has always been an integral part of our education system. In fact, we have also tried to make the teaching of the regular subjects like maths and science as value-based as possible, by seamlessly introducing the value concepts into the classroom interactions.

The school has adopted multiple ways, and we use multiple techniques to make the coming together of values and regular teaching as seamless as possible, making it an essential part of the life of students at The Heritage. The schools have regular character building classes, moral education workshops and expert lectures for that effect. We also organize educational trips, excursions and field visits for the students, so that they get the chance to move out of their own zones, and get along with their roots more often. This includes visits to old age homes, orphanages, as well as religious and spiritual centers.

The Heritage is amongst the top 10 schools in Dehradun, and one of the many reasons is our very focus on building the character of our students by imparting values and value-based education. The academics at The Heritage are undoubtedly the best you will find in any school in the region, and when excellent academic education is coupled with value education, you can stay assured that your child will come out to be nothing but the best.

Students, How is the Vacation Going? Here’s Your Checklist

We are halfway through the summer vacation, and we are sure that the students must be having a lot of quality time. We at  The Heritage, being widely regarded amongst Dehradun schools, have always tried to ensure that students spend their vacations on the best ways possible, have a lot of fun, and at the same time, come back when the school reopens as more learned individuals. Here’s a checklist of things that you must have been doing during the break, are you?

Morning Regime

Vacations often translate into late waking hours for the students, but unfortunately, it is the last thing that students should be doing during this time. We hope that our students must be following a routine of waking up early and using the morning hours in the most constructive manner possible.

Holidays’ Homework

As the vacations near the end, we don’t want our students to dread for the homework that has piled up. Students must be regular at doing the holidays’ homework assigned, and completing it in time without any difficulty!

Outdoor Activities

Increasing the outdoor activity is a major component of summer vacations. This is the time that must be used to try out multiple sports, become physically fit, raise stamina and learn skills like discipline, leadership, and teamwork on the way.

Learning New Skills

Summer vacation is also the time to pick up a few new skills and give a toss to your creativity. One should use the vacation in the best way by learning creative skills and arts like painting, singing, and dancing etc.

Reading

Reading is an amazing habit to own, and summer vacation is the period when you have a plenty of time to ingrain this habit inside you. Keeping a target of reading a number of books through the vacation, or a specific number of pages each day is how you go about it!

Being students of the best school in Dehradun, we hope that all our students would have made the best out of their vacations until now, and will rock the remaining days as well!

Why do Schools Have Uniform? Know from the Best School in Dehradun

The school uniform is one of the fondest and the brightest memories of school life. No matter  you like it or  hate it at one point of time, but it certainly becomes an integral part of a student’s life. But is its significance simply limited to creating these memories, or is there something more to it? Let’s find out.

Reasons for having Uniforms:-

Promoting unity & a sense of belonging

The school uniform has a very important role in bringing the students coming from different cultural and social backgrounds to a common platform. When every student wears a  similar set of clothes each day to school, they know that they are here with a common goal and for the common cause of education. The uniform also instills a sense of dedication, respect and belonging for the school.

Promoting equality amongst students

Imagine the scenario in schools when there is no uniform or dress code. Everyone comes with clothes of his or her choice. It is a fact that all students in a school don’t come from the same economic strata, and everyone doesn't have equal amount of financial resources. While the rich kids might be coming nicely dressed up in premium branded clothings, others may feel disadvantaged. A common uniform for all students in school discourages such inequalities and insecurities from creeping in the tender minds of students.

Safety & students identification

The school uniform also plays a very important role in ensuring the safety of students while outdoors. A school like The Heritage, which is amongst the top 10 schools in Dehradun, organises a lot of outdoor activity and expeditions, tours and field visits for the students. The uniform helps keep the flock together, and identify the students as belonging to the school. It has a major role to play in the safety of students.
